Welcome back to my quarterly Newsletter! The past few months ran away from me, so here is your mid-year update about all the different creative things I have been up to.

Recordings
Catch the recording of Ensemble Offspring performing my work We Demand Our Equal Rights, developed during Hatched Composer School in December.
Earlier this year I had the joy of working with co-curator Maddy Briggs to make Konzertprojekt’s Sound Stories concert series happen, and I was impressed yet again by quality of performances by our featured ensembles and soloists. Our videographer, Rauri Campbell of Moonvault, did an incredible job capturing these concerts, and you can watch the videos from Sound Stories Part 1 and Part 2 on the Konzertprojekt YouTube channel.
Christian Students Uniting
In my role as mission worker for Christian Students Uniting, I facilitated a music workshop day in late April to encourage students to engage with the creation of worship music. We learned some new songs by creatives in our community and to hear from Uniting Creative’s Tash Holmes about sustaining inspiration when we approach writing music.

I have also begun a poetry blog, each month featuring a poem I have written alongside one or two by poets I admire on a faith-related topic. And earlier this month I had the privilege of facilitating a creative writing workshop for our students on the theme of “embodied faith” – a subject around which much of my own poetry revolves.
Red Room Poetry
Last week I began an internship with Red Room Poetry, editing submissions by school students across the country to the POEM FOREST. It’s lovely to read poems by climate conscious kids who care deeply for our beautiful planet. If you know any kids who love playing around with words, encourage them to send us a poem!
